The first day I went to university was during orientation week in 2014. I approached the theatre marquee and asked if there were any improv groups on campus. “Not since the Improbables, a group with Andrew McClelland and Lawrence Leung” I was told. Since that day a lot of comedy has been performed on campus. Two university comedy festival, countless weekly shows, comedy union nights and competitions, faculty revues and comedy zines, prosh week performances and comedy debates. Yet the University has still never seen a celebration of the breadth of improv talent on campus. The Improv Showcase is that celebration! Join us for two nights only as we showcase the best long-form improv the University of Melbourne and the Victorian College of the Arts has to offer.
