August 21, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Come learn the basics of working in the music industry with two industry professionals.

Megan Steller Founder, Rehearsal Magazine

As a writer and creative leader, Megan Steller is changing the conversation around career development for young musicians and artists.

Her online platform Rehearsal Magazine is rapidly becoming a leading platform for music students, providing mentoring opportunities and promoting honest discussion around mental health and success in the classical music industry. Having completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne as a pianist and repetiteur, Megan is now passionate about assisting students in finding their place in the industry by developing their skill set beyond performance. As a journalist, Megan has been published in Limelight Magazine and The Music, and works as a freelance creative director for several major ensembles and organisations. With skills ranging from event and concert management to social media curation and copywriting, Megan is passionate about creating dynamic careers for performers and creators. She is currently the Orchestra Administration Coordinator for Orchestra Victoria.

Megan aspires to continue working with young performers and artists, to help create the transition from student to professional a positive experience.

Dianne Steller Accountant

Dianne Steller is an active accountant in Melbourne, with a passion for the arts. With extensive experience in the artistic sector, she offers a range of services – from helping you get on your feet as a young musician, to taking your business to the next level.

Since being a passionate but untalented cellist in secondary school, Dianne Steller MIPA BComm has had a great love of the arts. This love culminated in being employed at the Victorian Arts Centre as the Deputy Finance Manager, and subsequently as the Finance Manager. Dianne has been a keen audience member of many operas, ballets and musicals, as well as plays and popular music concerts. As an accountant, Dianne is passionate about supporting young musicians in establishing their careers. As an accountant in public practice, she has seen many talented people, who excel in their chosen field whether it be music or another industry, fail to succeed due to their lack of business knowledge – missing the skills to keep their financial records in order, or get paid what they are owed.

Dianne’s goal is to encourage young musicians to put time and effort into establishing good financial habits at the beginning of their career, in order to flourish at what they do best. Currently, Dianne is a Business Services Manager at Colville Williams & Co Pty Ltd, offering tax and accounting services to small businesses and individuals.
